David Neal Poling a business owner for over 30 years at age 45 was elected Mayor by defeating the democratic endorsed incumbent and a former president of council with over 50 percent of the vote in the November 2006 General Election and won on both Democrat and Republican ballots. He took the Oath of Office as the Mayor of Economy Borough, Pennsylvania on January 02, 2006. Mayor Poling is a conservative democrat and is committed to the fundamental values of fiscal responsibility, personal accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Since taking office, Mayor David Poling has worked tirelessly to make his philosophy “People Count Not Politics” into a legislative reality. Working in a bi-partisan fashion to get results, Mayor Poling has been dedicated to the revitalization of people putting faith back in their government leaders. Mayor Poling came into office in 2006 emphasizing greater accountability and efficiency in local government,improving the quality of life for all residents and a commitment to strengthening and expanding Economy Borough's economic development activities.

Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe: Economy Borough is the largest Borough in Beaver County, Public Safety is a number one priority of Mayor Poling's. The Economy Borough Police department patrols 140,000 miles per year and over 9,000 calls. Mayor Poling strives to keep his police in step with the latest training and technology to continue serving the residents with the utmost professionalism they deserve. Economy Borough has one of the lowest crime rates in Beaver County and one of the highest rated police dpartment.
Economic Development of Economy Borough: Mayor Poling vowed in 2006 to create economic development to off set local taxes for all residents in Economy Borough. Since Mayor Poling's election he has worked diligently with developers on a 60 million dollar project at the Northern Lights area bringing close to 500 new jobs in planned, ongoing development. After three years of negotiations Mayor Poling is anticipating a official announcement of the project in the very near future.

Mayor Poling resides with wife Mechelle of ten years and dog Sydney in the community of Whispering Pines - Economy Borough, Pennsylvania.
